Ledger Reconciliation Tool – BUSY & Tally PDF to Excel
Free Ledger Reconciliation Tool – BUSY & Tally PDF to Excel
Convert BUSY and Tally ledger PDFs into Excel and reconcile the ledgers of two parties using transaction dates, amounts and Debit/Credit positions. Extract transactions in PDF sequence and identify matching, unmatched and different transactions quickly.
Ledger PDF Converter and Reconciliation Tool
Reconciling ledgers manually can be time-consuming, especially when ledger data is available in PDF format from accounting software such as BUSY or Tally. This tool provides three functions in a single interface: BUSY ledger conversion, Tally ledger conversion and ledger reconciliation.
The converters extract transactions from the ledger PDF and export the information into Excel. The reconciliation module then compares the ledgers of your company and the other party while considering the opposite accounting point of view.
Three Tools in One
1. BUSY Ledger to Excel
Convert a BUSY ledger PDF into an Excel-compatible transaction format. Transactions are extracted in their PDF sequence, including rows appearing under a dated transaction.
The BUSY converter also recognizes the standard ledger heading containing Date, Vch No., Particulars, Debit, Credit and Balance.
2. Tally Ledger to Excel
Convert Tally ledger PDFs into Excel while retaining the transaction sequence and relevant transaction information.
Tally entries containing To and By are retained, and transactions appearing below a dated row can use the applicable preceding transaction date.
3. Ledger Reconciliation
Upload a reconciliation workbook containing two sheets: Your Ledger and Other Party Ledger.
The tool compares transactions while considering the opposite Debit/Credit position of the two parties.
Convert BUSY Ledger PDF to Excel
If your ledger is generated from BUSY accounting software, use the BUSY → Excel tab in the tool.
The extracted information can then be used for further accounting analysis and ledger reconciliation.
BUSY Ledger Information
The converter is designed around ledger information such as:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Date | Transaction/effective date |
| Vch No. | Voucher number where available |
| Particulars | Transaction description or party information |
| Debit | Debit amount |
| Credit | Credit amount |
| Balance | Running balance where available |
Convert Tally Ledger PDF to Excel
The Tally converter is designed to process ledger rows containing To and By entries and retain the transaction sequence from the PDF.
Transactions below a dated transaction are also considered rather than being ignored simply because the individual row does not display a separate date.
Date = PreviousDate = TransactionDate for every extracted transaction.
For an undated transaction row, the applicable preceding date is used.
Tally Transaction Information
The extracted transaction information can include the transaction date, particulars, transaction type, voucher information, debit, credit and running balance.
Ledger Reconciliation Between Two Parties
The reconciliation module is designed for situations where two parties maintain separate ledgers for the same transactions.
The most important feature is that the tool considers the opposite accounting point of view.
If Your Ledger shows: Debit ₹10,000
the corresponding transaction in the Other Party Ledger would normally appear as: Credit ₹10,000.
Similarly, a Credit in one party’s ledger is normally compared with a Debit in the other party’s ledger.
This prevents incorrect reconciliation caused by simply comparing Debit with Debit and Credit with Credit.
Two-Sheet Reconciliation Excel Format
The reconciliation tool uses a single Excel workbook containing two sheets.
| Sheet | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Sheet 1 – Your Ledger | Ledger maintained from your company’s point of view |
| Sheet 2 – Other Party Ledger | Ledger maintained by the other party |
The recommended transaction columns are:
| Date | PreviousDate | TransactionDate | Particulars | Type | Voucher | Debit | Credit |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 01-04-2026 | 01-04-2026 | 01-04-2026 | ABC Traders Receipt 101 | Credit | 101 | — | 10,000 |
